Bob is a national leader in crafting form-based zoning and design provisions to meet community objectives, completing over 65-such projects at MAKERS. As a partner, Bob manages a variety of planning and community design projects, and by balancing client needs, budget demands, and stakeholder input, he delivers successful projects that support the community vision. His over 25 years’ experience runs the full spectrum of community and development types, including dense urban downtowns, historic communities, auto-oriented commercial corridors, established neighborhoods, and rural communities, both in coastal communities and in the interior mountain west. His experience, enthusiasm, and communication skills have been instrumental in resolving conflicts and achieving consensus on land use and community design solutions in a wide variety of contexts.
Bob has led numerous conference sessions on various types of regulatory issues, and he is a frequent contributor to the Washington-state-based Municipal Research Service Center’s Insight Blog. He is also an active board member of the American Planning Association, Washington Chapter, chairing the Community Planning Assistance Team and the Great Places programs.
