Encroachment Studies

Drawing on our 40 plus years of military and community planning experience, MAKERS has prepared over twenty encroachment management studies that seek to balance military and community goals. This experience spans a variety of contexts, including the impacts of forest conversion on in-water ranges, wind energy development near low altitude training ranges, model zoning ordinances for communities under jet training routes, and mitigation methods residential neighborhoods impacted by aircraft noise.
