We updated the Port’s Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements to describe current conditions and recommend near-term actions and long-term strategies for the nine facilities in the Port’s portfolio. This comprehensive scheme will help the Port cultivate a vibrant, year-round activity center at the Fairgrounds and Event Center, provide a dock for future passenger-only ferry service, and protect water and shoreline access at Clinton Beach, South Whidbey Harbor, Possession Beach, and Bush Point.
Outcomes
- Engaged Port Commissioners, staff, key stakeholders, and community members via in-person visioning workshops, virtual-interviews, and site visits to inform recommendations.
- Provided a tool to convey information about the Port’s future investments and roadmap to guide the Port toward its goals.
