As part of the KPFF team, we helped the Port of Woodland assess the feasibility of developing a shipping terminal on riverfront property in Woodland. MAKERS developed a community engagement plan and communication toolkit, conducted outreach, and drafted public access concepts to support the effort. Informed by public input, we developed a community-supported plan for public access in the area surrounding the future shipping terminal.
Outcomes
- Engaged stakeholders through interviews, discussion groups, local events, open houses, and online surveys.
- Shared background information and project progress and solicited feedback to ensure that there was public buy-in for recommendations.
- Developed a menu of public access elements that can be implemented in combination or on their own depending on future needs and access to funding.
