Encroachment pressures stemming from urban sprawl, incompatible development, and environmental constraints are increasingly impeding the Navy’s ability to conduct operations, training, and testing. New development, increased marine traffic, and energy projects have been identified as possible threats at installations throughout Navy Region Northwest.
Working with NAVFAC NW, MAKERS addressed these concerns through a comprehensive, 10-task encroachment planning project. Individual elements of the planning effort include:
- Caderock Acoustic Research Detachment (ARD) Bayview Encroachment Action Plan (EAP)
- Dabob Bay Range Complex Thread Analysis
- Oregon Land Use Regulatory Study and Outreach Plan
- Renewable Energy Development Feasibility Study
