Beginning with an intensive design charrette to inform the Neighborhood Plan, MAKERS worked with the City to develop regulations, guidelines, and incentives to create a cohesive neighborhood in Overlake. The intent of the plan is to transform the existing suburban shopping area into a vibrant, multi-modal mixed-use center that will serve the high-technology employment area and the single-family residential area.
As part of the Neighborhood Plan for the Overlake District, MAKERS developed a conceptual design for NE 152nd Street to make it a pedestrian-oriented neighborhood main street and spur adjacent mixed-use development, as well as accommodate both BRT and LRT transit.
