Within the next ten years the United States Coast Guard (USCG) plans to replace its aging fleet of Medium Endurance Cutters with the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), a cutter with increased capabilities and homeporting requirements.  MAKERS, as part of a team, investigated seven sites within the Pacific Area (PACAREA) theatre of operations for the homeporting of six to ten OPCs and Pensacola, FL in the Gulf of Mexico Area of Responsibility for the homeporting of up to five OPCs.  The planning analysis identify potential cutter berthing and landside scenarios and related planning level cost estimates, both initial and long-term.  USCG Cutter Forces decision makers are using the Feasibility Study to understand the opportunities and risks at each location and related planning level costs in order to make informed homeporting decisions.
