In 2021 The United States Coast Guard 13th District (D13) will receive two Fast Response Cutters (FRCs) capably of independently deployment to conduct various Coast Guard (CG) missions throughout D13 including port, waterway and coastal security, fishing patrols, search and rescue, and national defense.  As a subcontractor under Amec, MAKERS worked closely with the CG and other stakeholders to conduct a feasibility study for potential homeports in D13. Out of 17 initial sites, the final study closely examines four potential homeports among three communities: Grays Harbor, WA, Astoria, OR, and Newport, OR as potential homeports.  The report details the existing community, landside, and waterside infrastructure at each location and provides a gap analysis highlighting how FRC requirements can be met, alternative homeporting scenarios, and planning level cost estimates.
