MAKERS assisted the engineering team (TranTech Engineering) with architectural elements that related to a prominent church located on the axis of the Tacoma Avenue South Bridge’s alignment. Because of the church’s gothic architecture, MAKERS included some gothic inspired elements, and along with a 10’ throw fence to meet railroad right-of-way requirements, the fence posts provided the perfect opportunity to express gothic architecture’s vertical character. After the preliminary design was enthusiastically approved, MAKERS completed the contract documents. The final plans are in review.
