MAKERS and The Watershed Company prepared the City of Kent’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP). Kent’s jurisdiction covers a diverse set of shorelines, including residential lakes and rivers with a variety of uses ranging from industrial and residential to agricultural activities. MAKERS worked with City staff, DOE staff, and the public to address a number of controversial issues, including floodway designations, levee construction, shoreline armoring, shoreline setbacks, residential docks, wetland designation, channel migration, and public access.
