MAKERS worked with the Nisqually Land Trust to prepare a master plan for the historic Peterson Farm. The site, located on Ohop Creek in the Nisqually watershed, has especially high environmental enhancement potential. The program thus combines extensive stream/ floodplain restoration with interpretive trails, passive recreation and educational facilities. Project tasks included:

  • Working with environmental scientists to better define and illustrate stream restoration.
  • Illustrating the potential for other activities and site improvements and describing how the Peterson Farm project can be integrated into other local and regional environmental and recreational efforts.
  • Preparing a document that outlines the Land Trust’s management directions, key elements and project implementation that will be useful in building support and acquiring funding.
